Growing up, I always heard the adage “you can do anything you put your mind to”. I never really understood it because I think I took it too literally. I thought to myself, “you couldn’t move a mountain if you put your mind to it, so whoever said that must be full of crap.

As I’ve watched my children grow, I’ve started collecting a list of little bits of wisdom that I want to pass along to my kids. For a number of years now, I’ve been taking notes. Sometimes these notes are funny, sometimes endearing, and sometimes very serious. But all of these notes are about experiences from my own life where I’ve learned something valuable.
