Professional Bio
Ryan Parman is the founder and visionary behind SimplePie and CloudFusion, co-founder of WarpShare, and member of the RSS Advisory Board. Recognized leader in syndication and cloud computing software, open source evangelist, and passionate usability advocate.
As the founder of SimplePie, he grew the project until it became the world's most popular RSS software for PHP developers. SimplePie has been included in projects like WordPress and Joomla!, and has been used by companies such as Yahoo!, Sony, and MTV Networks.
Operating at the intersection of digital media, brand engagement, and attention economics, WarpShare provides users with fast access to music, movies and TV shows, and the content industry with an internet-native business model for the 21st century.
While building WarpShare, Ryan open-sourced CloudFusion — a fast, easy-to-use toolkit for working with the world's most popular cloud computing services, which has garnered the attention of companies such as Rackspace and Amazon.
Ryan lives in California's Silicon Valley with his wife and kids, is a Christian and a prefectionist, has a snarky and sarcastic sense of humor, and doesn't vote down party lines. For now, he's getting his hands dirty writing RESTful web services, learning how to build a highly scalable infrastructure, and fussing over the usability of identity management systems.
